Claude Code mods for small changes to your workspace

See how Token Weather displays context use and how a custom panel can put your tasks beside the chat.

Illustrated examples · Fictional tasks · AI voice

Claude Code mods are add-ons that change how the workspace looks or behaves. They can add a view or alter an existing part of the interface.

A forecast for the context window

Token Weather is a sample mod shared by Anthropic. It shows a weather-style forecast of how full the context window is above the prompt.

It is a sample shared as-is, without support. It does not come built into Claude Code and needs to be loaded or installed separately.

Anthropic also shares examples called Blast Radius and Replay Theater. Other mods are built into Claude Code or shared by the community.

Making a mod for a small need

You can describe a mod in a Claude Code session and ask Claude to write it. We used that approach to create a to-do panel that shows tasks next to the chat.

The video illustrates the idea with fictional tasks. It is not a recording of a live session. Its voice is AI-generated.

Permissions and tokens

Mods run with your permissions. Read the code and use authors you trust.

If a mod calls an AI model, it spends tokens on your plan or API key. A mod can also add text to the conversation for Claude to read.

What would you want to see next to your chat?
